HOME MANAGER

There are many aspects to my role, including general operation and legal and clinical governance. It’s fair to say my days are busy but I absolutely treasure the rewarding time I can spend with residents.

Inspiring an active lifestyle

At St George's Park, residents have access to a wealth of engaging activities designed to enrich their lives. Our dedicated team of Lifestyle Coordinators implements a variety of fulfilling, dementia-friendly activities that are both comprehensive and tailored to the unique preferences of each resident.

We understand that families often worry about their loved ones becoming distressed during social activities or feeling isolated while watching television. That’s why we customise our activities based on each resident's needs. If a resident feels overstimulated by group activities, we provide the option to enjoy quiet time in the garden or listen to calming music. Our goal is to ensure that residents are not merely passive observers but lead as fulfilling a lifestyle as possible.

Our committed Lifestyle Coordinators take special care to organise activities specifically designed for residents living with dementia. In addition to catering to existing hobbies and interests, they arrange a diverse range of inclusive and inviting sessions, including pamper days, regular hydration trolley services, and visits from local scouts.

While residents make the most of their indoor time, our enthusiastic team is always available to assist them in enjoying outdoor strolls in the gardens or arranging outings using the home minibus for visits to RAF Cosford or the nearby lake.

Fostering community connections is a vital part of life at St George's Park. Residents, staff, families, and friends actively participate in various local celebrations and charity events, creating a strong sense of belonging.

We are also excited to offer our residents daily Rotherwood Wellness sessions, a key component of our groundbreaking Rotherwood Wellness Programme. These sessions are designed to enhance health and well-being through isometric exercises—a safe, low-impact method proven to improve overall fitness.

In collaboration with leading wellness coaches and external experts, our sessions cater to all fitness levels, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for everyone. Focusing on isometric exercises, we help our residents increase strength, improve mobility, and reduce dementia-related agitation—all within a nurturing and supportive environment.
